Students, gap year and lone soldiers
Ashdod has its own municipal young adults' centre, Kivunim, for ages 18-35, a Centre for Meaningful Service that prepares teenagers for the army and national service, and a campus of the SCE Shamoon College of Engineering. Lone soldiers can get guidance through the Ministry of Aliyah's Ashdod office and the Nefesh B'Nefesh Lone Soldiers Program.

Go to Kivunim
The municipal young adults' centre (18-35) at 4 HaTsiyonut St offers higher-education counselling, scholarships and loans, guidance for discharged soldiers, employment and entrepreneurship support.

The train from Ashdod Ad Halom reaches Tel Aviv in about 35 minutes; buses from the central bus station run to Jerusalem, Be'er Sheva and Bnei Brak. There is no public transport on Shabbat.
