Ashdod's hotels are few and almost all are on or near the seafront. The municipal tourism company lists five, so book ahead for summer and holidays.
Hotels
- Leonardo Plaza Ashdod (opens in a new tab) (1 Yam HaTichon Blvd, southern beaches): 183 rooms and suites, seasonal pools, spa and kids' club; kosher mehadrin under the Ashdod Rabbanut.
- West All Suites (opens in a new tab) (21 HaTayelet, Lido beach): 113 suites and rooms, most with sea views.
- Sur La Mer (opens in a new tab) (22 Max Nordau): small boutique hotel in the first row from the sea.
- Mi Ami (opens in a new tab) (Max Nordau, near the northern beaches): about 40 rooms, breakfast and dinner, a synagogue on site.
- Unique Hotel (opens in a new tab) (5 HaMischar): a business hotel. Some of these have only a Facebook page; check they are taking bookings before you travel.
Which area?
- Lido and the northern beaches (near Rova Alef): walking distance to the promenade, Givat Yona and the Lachish stream.
- Marina: the municipality says most homes in the Marina are rented and 32% of residents are new immigrants, mainly from France (Marina administration (opens in a new tab)).
- Southern beaches (Rova Yud-Alef, Tet-Vav, Yud-Zayin): quieter residential quarters by the sea, near the Ashdod-Yam fortress.
- City quarter: central bus station, City Mall and government offices.
Short-term rentals
Private apartments are offered on the big booking and rental platforms. The municipality publishes a recommended rental contract (opens in a new tab) for longer lets. For Shabbat stays, note that city buses do not run and the eruv covers the residential quarters.
Nearby
Kibbutz guesthouses and hotels in Ashkelon (about 17 km south) and the Gush Dan area are within a short drive; we did not verify them for this guide.
